On Thursday evening a brick shattered a window of the 18:30 Doncaster bound train as it passed through Holmes Junction, near Rotherham.

Passengers were shocked as loud thuds and a sudden bang startled an otherwise quiet journey home from Sheffield station. As the commuter train passed Holmes Junction, where the tracks split off the main line towards Rotherham central, a number of shadowy figures began throwing objects at the train. First eggs, then the brick. A passenger is believed to have suffered very minor injuries as parts of the brick breached the window.
The conductor confirmed the train “would carry on to Doncaster and get the window replaced”
